Is there a product to bridge the small gap between a slate floor and a solid oak floor in an open plan room?

You can use a silver or other colour beading for masking the connection of two different floors.

Yes there are strips at B&Q tile to floor, in various colour, ask for assistance.

Most decent flooring stores and some bigger DIY places do a strip in ploastic/metal and in different colours.

What you need is a reducer as the two floors are more than likely at different levels these come in wood most good hardware shops sell them if the two floors are the same height you can use a simple strip of wood about an 8th of an inch thick or use a brass or silver strip of metal which is available from any hardware shop they come in lengths up to 8 feet.
